Is it too much to ask that Bush get cancer...
which could be cured through stem cell treatment...that we won't have because he is a fucking moron?
Bush Vetoes Stem Cell Research Bill
Senate Passes Bill Expanding Funding For Stem Cell Research
WASHINGTON -- President George W. Bush said he has vetoed a bill that would have allowed expanded federal funding for embryonic stem-cell research because it "crosses a moral boundary that our decent society needs to respect."
Bush said the measure passed by Congress would "support the taking of innocent human life in hopes of finding medical benefits for others."
He said it would have done away with what he described as a more balanced approach he had taken on the issue.
The move comes a day after the Senate passed a bill that would expand federal funding of embryonic stem cell research.
The bill passed 63-37, four votes short of the two-thirds majority that would be needed to override Bush's veto.
Even though big-name conservatives including Bill Frist and John McCain voted to fund research on donated embryos that otherwise would be destroyed, White House spokesman Tony Snow said it's a matter of principle for the president.
