Weird Emails

Weird emails over the last 24 hours…

Screwed up:

Email I received at 6:14 pm:

1 Body Discovered In W.Va. Mine
Family members say rescue crews have
discovered one body in a West Virginia mine where 13 miners were trapped after
an explosion.

Email I received at 9:09 pm:

Report: 12 Trapped Miners Are Alive
Family members say 12 miners trapped
after an explosion in West Virginia are alive.

Email I received at 12:39 am:

Only One Trapped West Virginia Coal Miner Survives
Family members learned
early Wednesday that 11 of the 12 coal miners who were initially thought to have
survived an explosion in a coal mine have died
I can only imagine the lawsuits that are going to come out of that fiasco.

Where is our society headed when I get emails like this:

-------- Original Message --------

can I get a bra!

please say yes

Seriously, she is my nine year old daughter. She emailed me from my own computer while I was in the shower. Also, she will not need a bra for many, many years to come. But that she emailed me to ask...

And lastly, at work this morning:

I've received several questions about the "printing from the calendar view"
option being disabled. I spoke to the Help Desk & they told me that it
has been disabled company wide. Even though we could print from the
calendar view before, a decision was made to disable this function. At
this time there isn't any information when or if this function will be available
at a later date.
If you try to print from your individual calendar entry you
will get a pop up box with the following message:

Feature
Disabled
Please use the print feature provided by Lotus. From within a
calendar entry, select File, Print or CTRL-P.
Select the 'Page Setup' tab
then select 'Expand Names Field Contents' in the Miscellaneous
section.
Change the orientation to 'Landscape' for best results. Select
OK.

Thanks!

What in the hell purpose could blocking the ability to easily format and print our work calendars have? Seriously. It’s a company-wide proclamation stating that we, the people, can miss whatever meetings we feel like missing because the mothership has deemed it necessary to obstruct printing calendars with ease.
